9/11 Concert Donation to Texas Line of Duty Death Task Force

A recipient of funds from the Vocal Majority’s 9/11 Concert of Remembrance will be the Texas Line of Duty Death Task Force (LODD). The Texas LODD Task Force honors fallen and critically injured first responders by providing response, resources, and remembrance programs to and for first responder agencies and families.

"We are so excited to be honored by the Vocal Majority and VM Music Company as one of the recipients of proceeds from their 9/11 Concert," said Wendy Norris, Founder of the Texas LODD Task Force. "The generosity of the Vocal Majority, and that of their patrons, is heartwarming. This is such an honor!"

Goals of the LODD

The goals of the Texas LODD Task Force are multifaceted, but can be summarized in the statement, ‘Remembering the survivors so that we will never forget the fallen.’ Their goal is to provide for the unique needs of those who have experienced a line of duty death or injury.

Fall-out issues from a fatality include depression, substance abuse, loss of desire to continue serving within the profession (paid or volunteer), post-traumatic stress, marriage difficulties, inter-department stress, fractured families, and sometimes suicide. Texas LODD wishes to help to stem the sadness, grief and stress within this community by providing services that are specifically catered to the particular needs of these individuals.
